Between the Lines is built around that space: an intimate night where Jazim Sharma sings, recites and talks about the words that shaped him, and invites Houston to listen closely.

Born in Bathinda, Punjab, Jazim Sharma began singing at the age of five and trained under Guru Vijay Sachdeva. He went on to earn a master's degree in music from the University of Mumbai, and cites the legendary Ustad Ghulam Ali as his greatest inspiration.
Today he is one of the most loved voices of the new generation of ghazal singers, moving easily between the concert stage, Hindi film music and independent releases, while keeping the soul of the classical ghazal intact.
Jazim will be joined by two remarkable musicians, one keeping the heartbeat of the ghazal on tabla and one bringing raga-inspired colour on guitar.
A soulful tabla player whose credits include accompanying the legendary Ustad Ghulam Ali, the ghazal maestro who inspired Jazim's own journey. Bobby brings a warm, sensitive touch that lets every verse breathe, and a rhythmic depth that lifts the room when the music opens up.
An American guitarist of Indian and Brazilian-Portuguese descent, known for blending Hindustani ragas with blues, jazz and world music, often on a resonator guitar that echoes the sitar and sarod. He has performed with Zakir Hussain, Hariharan and Suresh Wadkar, and his albums include Rudra, Spellbound and Healer.
Priority reservations open first to IAA Patrons. Limited seating will be released to non-patrons, subject to availability.
